Today, more than ever, our community is turning to soft-tissue therapy. The effects of stress & tension can be seen throughout our nation. Increased anxiety combined with economic worries and longer, repetitive work schedules are common current causes.

Many medications only mask the pain, but the body continues to wear the weight of the world. Lack of sleep, emotional distress, decreased coping skills and motivation are just a few of the effects of stress, and subsequent tension. Muscular tension opens the door to injury and illness and has now become a common current condition.

The effects of stress vary from person to person and may included:

  • LACK OF SLEEP
  • DECREASED COPING SKILL
  • EMOTIONAL DISTRESS
  • ANXIETY
  • DEPRESSION
  • DECREASED MOTIVATION
  • RESTLESSNESS
  • IRRITABILITY
  • DIFFICULTY CONCENTRATING
  • INABILITY TO FOCUS ON TASKS

Stress and Tension

Muscular tension is a response from the body to stress as well as pain. Some of the effects of tension may appear as one or more of the following:

  • FREQUENT ILLNESS
  • FATIQUE
  • JOINT PAIN
  • HEADACHES / MIGRAINES
  • MUSCULAR ACHES AND STIFFNESS
